Hi All, what a beautiful week. Nice weather all week with some light
rain a couple times, but we did have some wind yesterday, so it
dried the trails out some, but not too bad. The next rain that is
forecasted is for late Sunday night. The trails are bumpy, but in
all in good shape, but I hope the DNR gets out there soon to do the
spring grading, so the local grooming club can start their grading
and grooming. Nothing like riding on freshly groomed trails, right
after a rain. Call the local DNR office to see when they are going
to start, it may help. Their # is 231 745 4651. Don't get me wrong,
the trails are still OK, but a guy gets spoiled when you get to ride
on groomed trails all the time.
We have some week day rooms open through the end of May, one single
motel room for May 10th, none for May
16th and 17th, one double motel room for Memorial Day weekend (May 23rd, 24th & 25th
and three double and two single motel rooms for May 30th & 31st. Morels mushrooms are out
and are full for the whole family to go mushrooming. Ride during the week if you want some fantastic riding.
We do have three rooms open for the July 4th
weekend. Don't miss out on the great mid week specials it's almost
over.
Please take the time
to email the Lake County Commissioners. Their email is
clerk@co.lake.mi.us
. Tell them that your email is for the commissioners.
E mail Senator Patty Brikholz, (R) (she is the
chair person of the Senate Natural Resources and Environmental
Committee)
senpbirkholz@senate.michigan.gov
,
Senator Gerald Van Woerkom, (R)( vise-chair)
sengvanwoerkom@senate.michigan.gov ,
Senator Bruce Patterson (R)
senbpatterson@senate.michigan.gov ,(member)
Senator Raymond Basham (D)
senrbasham@senate.michigan.gov ,(member)
Senator Michael Prusi, (D)
senmprusi@senate.michigan.gov ,(member) and tell them you are in favor of HB 4323
"as presented by the house" to allow orv
traffic on the shoulders of the county roads.
Give them your name and address and a return email. And if
possible do this on a weekly basis. the people that don't want it to
pass are going through the effort to stop it, so we need to put up
an effort to get this passed. Tell your family and friends to do the
same and we can make a difference.
Steelhead are in the
rivers and they are a blast to catch and just to look at. But bring a lot of
line and fly's Steelhead love them. We have a great weekend coming
up and the trails should be a lot of fun. So don't wait to long to
reserve your rooms.
I CAN'T SAY THIS ENOUGH, WEEKDAY RIDING IS THE BEST.
We have
great trails for the ATV’s to ride and they are the Little O Trail
(46 miles of 50" trails), Tin Cup Springs Trail (21 miles of 50" trails and 21
miles of 72" trails) are a hoot to ride. The Little Manistee Trail
(46 miles of 50" trails and 46 miles of 72" trails) and the Lincoln
Hills Trail (21 miles of 50" trails and 21 miles of 72" trails). In
all there is 222 miles of ATV, ORV trails plus the single tracks for
the Dirt Bikes, which I believe is around 88 miles. That’s 310 miles
of dirty fun. And the even groom the Little Manistee and Lincoln
Hill 72" trails weekly in the summer.

Next spring
don't forget, we rent ATV's, so give us a call and go riding on
GROOMED ATV trails. You will have a ball, these are the only trails
in the state that I know of, that are groomed for ATV's and have
several days of riding with out seeing the same tree time after
time. Not like the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, four hills and you seen
it all. And the ATV rentals at the Dunes is $110 for 3 hours, ours
is $140 for all day, you decide which one is a better deal. We both
rent the exact same ATV's, except we have more choices. Now there
are some ungroomed trails here also, so if you do want the bumps,
you can have them, you decide.
ATV Rentals will be back next spring with a bigger fleet of ATV
Rentals, Honda Recons 250, Honda Rubicon 500 4x4, Yamaha Wolverines
350 and Yamaha Rhino 450 4x4. We will deliver to the local trail heads for Free. We will also deliver anywhere in the State for a fee, so if you want to have some ATV fun give us a call. While riding stay to the right, because there is no yellow
line and the left side is for on coming traffic. Ride hard but be safe,
please don't take chances on the trails. There is other people
besides you out there. With over 320 miles of marked motorsport trails, 3 trail heads within 4 miles, and one of the largest motor
sport dealers 2 miles away, this is the place to stay in Michigan.
We have ATV & Snowmobile maps available at the office and will give you first
hand information, and up to date trail conditions. Just call
