Groomers are running and trails look good, but use caution, there is ice under the snow from last weeks thaw and refreeze. With that said, as the Holiday weekend traffic increases the snow will get pushed off the curves and take it down to the ice!! Conditions are good in all directions as per our guest. I posted some pictures of some of the trails on 2-11-16 on our Facebook page. (The link is above)  Our rentals are ready to go, just waiting for you. Please slow down especially over this Presidents day weekend, it will be busy out there!!!!
Take a look at Irons report below about trail 614 and bear swamp.
If you are still riding your ATV on the ORV trails and routes,  Please do remember you must have a flag on your ATV or ORV to ride the county roads that are open
from Dec 1st until April 1st, also you can not ride your ATV's or ORV's on any "snowmobile only trails".

This is the latest reports right from our Local Snowmobile Grooming Clubs and all of these trails surround us and are all accessible from here.
Here are their latest updates as of 2-12-16 at 1pm

Pere Marquette Snowmobile Club (Rails to trails)
rates their trails as fair as of 2-10-16

Club notes: MSA
We have parked our tractors as the trails are in no shape to groom.  There is some hope for a Friday groom as we are seeing some snow with the freezing temps.  The White Pine Trail south of Big Rapids needs more snow for good sledding. There is lots of wood to burn at the Fire Pit in Reed City.  I hope to see you at The Pit.

Baldwin Trailriders rates their trails as fair as of 2-11-16
Club Notes: MSA
Good afternoon,we have groomed everything today,we got some of the lake affect snow, but not that much, southern section was groomed but will be the last time until we get more snow, the middle and north section and the railroad grade to reed city are all fair and getting a little icy,so be careful in the corners, wish we could say there good to great but a little icy,so slow down and be careful,we thank you for supporting TRSC.

Irons Area Tourist Association rates their trails as good as of 2-11-16
Club notes: MSA
Each trail segment is being groomed every other day. We have a solid ice base and did receive approx. 6″ of fresh snow north and west of Irons, with lesser amounts to the south. However the trails are in awesome condition and we are expecting another busy weekend with the extended weekend of Presidents Day and will continue to groom throughout the weekend. So come on up and enjoy the trails. TRAIL #614 thru the BEAR SWAMP is open to snowmobiles only and is posted as “rough trail”. This segment has not been approved for us to groom, so the trail is going to get whooped out so take your time going thru there. Sorry for trail conditions however the trail will be open without any re-route.

Wellston Winter Trails and Promotions
rates their trails as good as of 2-11-16.

Club notes: MSA
The big snow did not materialize for us but the temperatures have really cooled off and we are still having snow showers. We are out there making passes on the trails before the weekend.  We are still calling the trails fair to good depending on where they are located. Udell Hills is good to excellent.  There are areas where the trail is icy so use caution.  The weekend will see temperatures in the teens and maybe below zero Saturday night so plan accordingly. There are a few areas to watch out for:
We are grooming Low Bridge now that the temperatures have cooled. There is no problem there now.
The West end of the Udell Hills Lower Loop (#617) is now in much better shape.
Trail #3 has logging operations North of Hoxeyville Rd. They are not currently actively logging but there are piles of logs to look out for. Please stay on the trail. Another note: Consumers Power has informed us that they will be working on the poles on Old House Rd. starting this Monday February 15th. Be aware that there will be large equipment along the pole line. Please stay on the trail. We would like to remind riders to stay on the trails. We do have some trails that go through private properties. Recently some landowners in other parts of the state have withdrawn their permission to use their property for trails due to riders leaving the trails.  One example is the trail between East Jordon and Charlevoix. We don’t want that to happen here. Thanks for your cooperation!

Cadillac Winter Promotions rates their trails as good as of 2-11-16
Club Notes:
MSA Just got the all clear from our President. All groomers are running full schedules effective immediately. PLEASE REMEMBER we have been asked by the State Park folks to stay off the White Pine Trail until there is at least four inches of snow on it…Let’s all respect this request. Thanks!

Benzie Manistee Snowbirds rates their trails as good as of 2-10-16
Club Notes: MSA
Groomer guy Jeff reports 11″ of new snow! Trails are good.
Large water hole on 39, should freeze up today! Just north of Laughing Horse Saloon. Hey how about taking your hunnie out for a Valentines Ride!!
Here is our planned groomer schedule for this year. Remember this is what we plan to do, it does not account for extreme weather or break downs, which can cause changes in the schedule. Also remember that high traffic causes bumps in the trails. Riding sensibly helps keep the corners and intersections smooth.
Kaleva to Highbridge – Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun
Kaleva to Bear Lake/Thompsonville – Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun
Turtle Creek and North – Mon, Wed, Fri, Sat, Sun
Remember to give the groomers room!! They are working to keep the trails in good condition for you. Give them a thumbs up!! Use Caution!! Please be observant as our fellow rides and the great guys “our volunteers” on those big green machines maybe just around the corner or just up over the hill. Show them your appreciation with thumbs up and a courtesy pass of right a way. Our guys give up many hours of their own riding time and their sleep to do a great job at trying to keep others happy on our trails. And just a few selfish people can take away the groomers pride of all they have accomplished and not to mention the big cost to our club. Please show some respect for the guys grooming during the early morning or late night hours.

                    Snowmobile  Rentals.
Our Snowmobile Rentals are ready to go, so if you want to give snowmobiling a try, with over 750 miles of groomed, connecting trails, call us at 231 745 4101 8 am until 10 pm.
Give a gift that they will love.
Gift Certificates are available for ATV, Snowmobile Rentals and our Lake Front rooms at our office.
We are just 25 minutes away from Caberfae Peaks Ski area if you like down hill skiing or snowboarding.
All of our rental Snowmobiles here at ATV & Snowmobile Rentals are ready to go weather permitting, so if you want to give snowmobiling a try, give us a call at 231 745 4101.
Make sure you STOP when they see the groomers so they can move by. It's really dangerous to have riders keep moving when the groomers pass. Make sure you wave and show your support. Also, please stay off the ribbon so it will set up, and the trails will stay smoother longer, that's what we all like, right?
We are snowmobilers too and if you reserve a room and there isn't enough snow to ride, just give us a call and ask the trail conditions and if there is no snow to ride you can cancel your room with no penalties, but if there is enough snow to ride, I expect you to come.
Here is a list of the snowmobile trails in this area, are you ready? The Baldwin trails, (146 miles) go west to Reed City and south from here to Newaygo, Irons trails wrap around Wolf Lake and then heads north, east and west for 122 miles and connects to Cadillac and Wellston trails and Benzie/ Manistee trails, Cadillac trails connect into the Irons, Wellston and Pere Marquette trails. The Cadillac trails run from Cadillac, then south to Leroy, and west to Irons and Wellston, they groom 124 miles, Wellston trails goes east to connect to Cadillac trails and south to the Irons Trails and west to Freesoil for 68 miles and north to the, Benzie/Manistee trail system. The Pere Marquette trail go west and connects to the Baldwin trails and east to Clare and from Reed City you can go north up to Leroy for 144 miles, or go south of Reed City on the Pere Marquette trail to Grand Rapids. The Benzie/Manistee trail goes all the way north to the Maple City another 147 miles and connects to the Wellston trails to the south. Let's total this up, 146 + 122 + 124 + 68 + 144 + 147 = 751 in groomed connecting trails just in this area alone and we are right in the middle of them. I don't know about you, but that's a ton of riding. Now there is more trails to get to, but that would be just over kill and this is not even counting all of the two tracks and seasonal roads that you can ride.
Why spent an extra $200 to $300 in truck fuel to get to Gaylord or the UP when we have fantastic riding right here.
WEEK DAY RIDING IS THE BEST. Come here and get a nice clean warm room and use that $200 to $300 for snowmobile fuel, that’s a ton of riding.
We have on site Snowmobile Rentals, provided by ATV & Snowmobile Rentals LLC, so if you don't have a sled, just let me know and I can get it set up for you. Maybe you just want to try snowmobiling or maybe your sled is broken, we can help. But remember weekday riding is always the best, less traffic, the gas stations are less busy and it's just a lot safer.

Hi All,  Look at our Facebook page for current pictures and things going on. The groomer has when through and groomed the dirt on the Little Manistee and Lincoln Hills ORV Routes and they are in awesome shape.  It's only 8 days until the official start of the snowmobile season, so lets hope Mother Nature goes along with that and gives us some snow.  The trails have been a blast with light traffic   One good thing is there is a lot less people during the week to content with on the trails and in the surrounding areas this time of the year. I can not say this enough, weekday riding is the best. We do have some ATV's left for this week, including a Polaris RZR side by side and Yamaha Rhino side by side too.  I would like to say thanks to all of our guest that have loved all the remodeling that we have been doing this last year and more is coming as soon as we slow down. With that said if you plan on coming up here next summer you better check for dates now, we are mostly full for 2016 up to this date, with only a few dates left. We did pick up a Polaris 570 RZR side by side rental. What a fun ride, plenty of power, great handling and a blast to ride.
Like us on our facebook page at and check out our most current pictures and things that are going on in this area.

Just remember, when you are coming up north, bring a full array of clothes. Dry gear, wet gear, warm gear and cold gear. It's better to have it and not use it than it is to need it and not have it. Please take a look at the Michigan DNR web site for the signage regulations on the trails that went into effect. Some signs will be removed and some signs are being added to make the trails a much safer place. (At least that is their thinking). Here is the link to the new signage changes.,4570,7-153--280829--,00.html also while at the DNR site check on any restrictions that maybe in effect during the rifle deer season. As always, weekday riding is the best with light to no traffic.

Just as a reminder, please do not ride your ATV or dirt bike on the shoulder of M37. It's a sizeable fine and is just not safe to do. Also while riding on the open Lake County roads, please ride at 25 mph or less and PLEASE keep the noise down while getting to the trails. It's taken a long time to get the county roads open and we don't want to loose it over a couple riders that won't play by the rules.
Lake County ORV ordinance went back into effect on April 1st, which allows ORV's to ride the shoulders of most of Lake Counties roads. The ordinance states that you can ride 25 mph, single file to the right side of the maintained shoulder on dirt roads and to the right side of the pavement on paved roads (All four wheels on the pavement). This ordinance is a great asset for this area and makes it a lot easier to get around with your ORV's. Also you must have a flag on your ATV from December 1st until April 1st to ride on the shoulders of the county roads.
There is a list of ORV trails and Routes below which you can ride in this area and you can right right from the Resort. There is also links at the top of the page to the DNR maps of the trails too.
NOTE, we do offer gift certificates for ATV, Boat, Room and Snowmobile Rentals and make a great gift.
To reserve a room or ATV's call us at 231 745 4101. Please only call between 8am and 10pm, we all need a break once in a while too.
So get your ATV ready and if you don't have a ATV, we do. We have onsite ATV rentals provided by ATV & Snowmobile Rentals LLC and they are ready to go. Get yours reserved today.
There is YouTube videos on our Photo page of all our rooms, so you can check us out before you get here. But if you are a regular guest, you can see what new things we have done too.

We are taking a lot of reservations for the 2015 summer, so if you want to get up here, call us soon at 231 745 4101 8am until 10pm.
April 1st the ORV ordinance went back into effect and allows ORV's to ride on the shoulders of most of the Lake County roads. So that means you can ride right from the Resort through out the ORV season. (Some restrictions apply Nov 15th through Nov 30th, which is the rifle deer season)
Man there is nothing like riding a big wide groomed ORV routes, like the Little Manistee and Lincoln Hills to put a smile on your face. These two ORV routes get groomed in the summer months. Also there is the tight twisty ungroomed 50" Little O trails too, if that is more your style. Plus there is the Tin Cup springs that has a ungroomed route and a single track motorcycle trail, this system has a lot of ruts, stumps, stones, washout and a lot of curves, and is more technical and is not for novice riders. The Little Manistee (46 mile) and Lincoln Hills (21) also have a single track motorcycle trail that run beside the ORV Routes, plus several other single track trails in the area.
ATV Rentals are back with a bigger fleet of ATV Rentals, 2 - Honda Recons 250, 4 - Can-Am 400 MAX two up's 4x4, 2- Polaris 500 Sportsman Touring two up's 4x4,  3 - Yamaha Wolverines 350 and 1-Yamaha Rhino side by side 450 4x4 and last but not least a Polaris 570 RZR 4x4 side by side, 13 in all. We will also deliver anywhere in the State for a fee, so if you want to have some ATV fun give us a call. While riding stay to the right, because there is no yellow line and the left side is for on coming traffic. Ride hard but be safe, please don't take chances on the trails. There are other people besides you out there.  With around 310 miles of marked ATV - ORV - UTV and Dirt Bike trails, 3 trail heads within 4 miles, and one of the largest motor sport dealers 2 miles away, this is the place to stay in Michigan. There is also a Gas station/Party store right across the street for your convenience. We have ATV & Snowmobile maps available at the office and will give you first hand information, and up to date trail conditions. Just call 231-745-4101 8am until 10pm, or email us at 24/7

ATV RENTALS will be back in the spring, so call and reserve your

Reserve your Lake Front Room today before all the good dates are gone. We offer discounts at local restaurants, fishing guides, hunting guides, and have great golf packages. Give us a try and you will not be disappointed. Call 231-745-4101 8am until 10pm or email us at 24/7

Here is a link to a video by Dirt Bike Michigan on the Little O trail. This is also an ATV trail. Little O trail ride. Here is a YouTube video that Dave from Fishweb, did on the Little Manistee trail, while he was here at the Resort this  with one of our rental Can Am ATV's. Little Manistee trail ride.
Very Cool and this is just one of the trails.
In the summer months, right beside the trails there are ditches cut into the banks, so the water will run off of the trails. STAY OUT, THEY ARE VERY DEEP. Some of these ditches are over 8 feet deep and if you drive into one, you will most likely suck muddy water into engine and it will be ruined and if it's one of our rentals, you will be owning a rental with a bad motor.
ATV & Snowmobile Rentals LLC  rents onsite, Can Am, Honda and Yamaha ATV's too, so give us a call and go riding on GROOMED ATV trails. You will have a ball, these are the only trails in the state that I know of, that are groomed (during the summer months) for ATV's and you can have several days of riding with out seeing the same tree time after time. Not like the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, four hills and you seen it all. And the ATV rentals at the Dunes is $110 for 3 hours, ours is $150 for all day, you decide which one is a better deal. We both rent the exact same ATV's, except we have more choices. Now there are some ungroomed trails here also, so if you do want the bumps, jumps and tight twisty trails, you can have them too, you decide.
We have great trails for the ATV’s & Dirt Bikes to ride and they are the Little O Trail (46 miles of 50" trails), Tin Cup Springs Trail (21 miles of motorcycle trails and 21 miles of 72" routes) are a hoot to ride. The Little Manistee Trail (46 miles of Motorcycle trails and 46 miles of 72" trails) and the Lincoln Hills Trail (21 miles of 50" trails and 21 miles of 72" routes). In all there is 222 miles of ATV, ORV trails and routes plus the single tracks for the Dirt Bikes, which I believe is around 88 miles. That’s 310 miles of dirty fun. And they even groom the Little Manistee and Lincoln Hill 72" trails every other week in the summer months.
If you want to come to this area just give us a call at 231 745 4101 8am until 10pm and if we don't have a room, we will try our best to find you a room, so call soon to get your room reserved or they will be all gone. There is a new web site for ORVing in Lake County, it's called which we are members of, check it out and post your thoughts.

Wolf Lake is great for Perch, blue gill and bass, just waiting for the ice.  The Pine River, Pere Marquette river and Little Manistee River are excellent for Huge Brown trout and some very nice Rainbows and brookies.  If you have never been here fishing before, give it a try, it's World Class Fishing is all I can say.
