Hi All, Beautiful weather so far this week
and more beautiful weather is forecasted. This weekend is the Blessing
of the Bikes, which is a huge motorcycle event that usually brings in
around 30,000 motorcycles and is a lot of fun. With that said if you
don't already have a room, you will not find one around here. Everyone that
was riding ATV's and dirt bikes this week has said the trails were in great shape and were
a blast to ride, but is getting dusty, so bring goggles. Morels are in
season and trout fishing has been excellent. Where else can you ride on great
trails, find some morels and catch a trout all in the same day, then
come back to your lakeside room to watch the sunset while looking over a
campfire listening to the Loons singing into the darkness....
You can ride right from the Resort and yes our ATV rentals are
ready to go, so what are you waiting for?
Lake
County ORV ordinance went back into effect on April 1st, which allows ORV's to ride
the shoulders of most of Lake Counties roads. The ordinance states that
you can ride 25 mph, single file to the right side of the maintained
shoulder on dirt roads and to the right side of the payment on paved
roads (All four wheels on the payment). This ordinance is a great asset
for this area and makes it a lot easier to get around with your ORV's.
Just remember,
when you are coming up north this time of the year, bring a full array
of clothes. Dry gear, wet gear, warm gear and cold gear. It's better to
have it and not use it than it is to need it and not have it.
There is a list of ORV trails and Routes below which you can
ride in this area and you can right right from the Resort. There is also
links at the top of the page to the DNR maps of the trails too.
NOTE, we do offer gift certificates for ATV, Boat, Room
and Snowmobile Rentals and make a great gift.
I do have one of our ATV rentals for sale, it's a 2004 Bombardier Outlander
Max 400 XT for $2200. It's a two up ATV in fair condition with an
excellent maintenance record. New tires. We also have a 2007
Arctic Cat Z 570 that we are selling for $2000 that runs great and
is in fair condition. My 2006 Arctic Cat 700 Crossfire Snow Pro 136
inch track with 8000 miles is for sale for
$3600. It has the Fox air shocks, higher windshield, mirrors, Arctic
Cat saddlebags, Arctic Cat custom cover and a new set of Hyfax and a
extra belt. It's
always been stored inside, always has been serviced and is in very
nice condition and runs and drives excellent. Call me at 231 745 4101.
To reserve a room or ATV's call us at 231 745 4101.
Please only call between 8am and 10pm, we all need a break once in a
while too.
So

There is YouTube videos on our
Photo page of all our rooms, so you can

But if you are a regular guest, you can see what new things we have
done too.
We
are taking a lot of reservations for the 2013 and 2014 summer, so if you want
to get up here, call us soon at 231 745 4101 8am until 10pm.
April
1st the ORV ordinance went back into effect and allows ORV's
to ride on the shoulders of most of the Lake County roads. So that means you can ride
right from the Resort through out the ORV season. (Some restrictions
apply Nov 15th through Nov 30th, which is the rifle deer season)
Man there is
nothing like riding a big wide groomed ORV routes, like the Little
Manistee and Lincoln Hills to put a smile on your
face. These two ORV routes get groomed in the summer months. Also there is the tight twisty ungroomed 50" Little O trails
too, if that is more your style. Plus there is the Tin Cup springs
that has a ungroomed route and a single track motorcycle trail, this
system has a lot of ruts, stumps, stones, washout and a lot of
curves, and is more technical and is not for novice riders. The Little
Manistee (46 mile) and Lincoln Hills (21) also have a single track
motorcycle trail that run beside the ORV Routes, plus several other single track trails in the area.
ATV Rentals are back with a bigger fleet of ATV Rentals, 3 - Honda
Recons 250, 3 - Can-Am 400 MAX two up's 4x4, 5 - Yamaha Wolverines 350
and 1-Yamaha Rhino side by side 450 4x4, 12 in all. We will also deliver anywhere in the
State for a fee, so if you want to have some ATV fun give us a call.
While riding stay to the right, because there is no yellow line and
the left side is for on coming traffic. Ride hard but be safe,
please don't take chances on the trails. There are other people
besides you out there. With around 310 miles of marked ATV -
ORV - UTV and Dirt Bike trails, 3 trail heads within 4 miles, and one of the largest motor
sport dealers 2 miles away, this is the place to stay in Michigan.
There is also a Gas station/Party store right across the street for
your convenience. We have ATV & Snowmobile maps available at the office and will give you first
hand information, and up to date trail conditions. Just call
231-745-4101 8am until 10pm, or email us at

Here is a
link to a video by Dirt Bike Michigan on the Little O trail. This is
also an ATV trail.
Little O trail ride. Here is a YouTube video that Dave from Fishweb, did on the Little
Manistee trail, while he was here at the Resort this with one
of our rental Can Am ATV's.
Little Manistee trail ride.
Very Cool
and this is just one of the trails.
In the summer months, right beside the trails there
are ditches cut into the banks, so the water will run off of the
trails. STAY OUT, THEY ARE VERY DEEP. Some of these ditches are over
8 feet deep and if you drive into one, you will most likely suck
muddy water into engine and it will be ruined and if it's one of our
rentals, you will be owning a rental with a bad motor.
ATV & Snowmobile Rentals LLC
rents
onsite, Can Am, Honda and Yamaha ATV's
too, so give us a call and go riding on GROOMED
ATV trails. You will have a ball, these are the only trails in the
state that I know of, that are groomed (during the summer months) for ATV's and you can have several
days of riding with out seeing the same tree time after time. Not
like the Silver Lake Sand Dunes, four hills and you seen it all. And
the ATV rentals at the Dunes is $110 for 3 hours, ours is $140 for
all day, you decide which one is a better deal. We both rent the
exact same ATV's, except we have more choices. Now there are some ungroomed trails here also, so if you do want the bumps,
jumps and tight twisty trails,
you can have them too, you decide.
We
have great trails for the ATV’s & Dirt Bikes to ride and they are
the Little O Trail (46 miles of 50" trails), Tin Cup Springs Trail
(21 miles of motorcycle trails and 21 miles of 72" routes) are a hoot to
ride. The Little Manistee Trail (46 miles of Motorcycle trails and 46 miles
of 72" trails) and the Lincoln Hills Trail (21 miles of 50" trails
and 21 miles of 72" routes). In all there is 222 miles of ATV, ORV trails
and routes plus the single tracks for
the Dirt Bikes, which I believe is around 88 miles. That’s 310 miles
of dirty fun. And they even groom the Little Manistee and Lincoln
Hill 72" trails every other week in the summer months.
If
you want to come to this area just give us a call toll free at 877
745 4101 8am until 10pm or from a cell phone 231-745 4101 8am until
10pm and if we don't have a room, we will try our best to find you a
room, so call soon to get your room reserved or they will be all
gone. There is a new web site for ORVing in Lake County, it's called
www.lakecountyorv.com
which we are members of,
check it out and post your thoughts.
We do have rooms for this week and next week.
To reserve a room or ATV's, Snowmobile or Boat call us at 231 745 4101.
Please only call between 8am and 10pm, we all need a break once in a
while too. If you just need a trail report PLEASE look at our ATV &
Snow report page and our WolfCam, we need our phone lines to take
reservations. Thank you, Tim.

Our
Snowmobile Rentals are ready to go as soon as we get some snow, so if you want to give
snowmobiling a try,
with over 750 miles of groomed, connecting trails, call us at 231 745 4101
8 am until 10 pm.
Give a gift that they will love.
Gift
Certificates are available for ATV, Snowmobile Rentals and our Lake
Front rooms at our office.
We
are just 25 minutes away from Caberfae Peaks Ski area
if you like down hill skiing or snowboarding.
All of our rental Snowmobiles here at ATV & Snowmobile Rentals are
ready to go weather permitting, so if you want to give snowmobiling
a try, give us a call at 231 745 4101.
Make sure you STOP when they see the groomers so they
can move by. It's really dangerous to have riders keep moving when
the groomers pass. Make sure you wave and show your support. Also,
please stay off the ribbon so it will set up, and the trails will
stay smoother longer, that's what we all like, right?
We are snowmobilers too and if you
reserve a room and there isn't enough snow to ride, just give us a
call and ask the trail conditions and if there is no snow to ride
you can cancel your room with no penalties, but if there is enough
snow to ride, I expect you to come.
Here is a list of the snowmobile trails in this area, are you ready?
The Baldwin trails, (146 miles) go west to Reed City and south from
here to Newaygo, Irons trails wrap around Wolf Lake and then heads
north, east and west for 122 miles and connects to Cadillac and
Wellston trails and Benzie/ Manistee trails, Cadillac trails connect
into the Irons, Wellston and Pere Marquette trails. The Cadillac
trails run from Cadillac, then south to Leroy, and west to Irons and
Wellston, they groom 124 miles, Wellston trails goes east to connect
to Cadillac trails and south to the Irons Trails and west to Freesoil for 68 miles and north to the, Benzie/Manistee trail
system. The Pere Marquette trail go west and connects to the Baldwin trails and
east to Clare and from Reed City you can go north up to Leroy for 144 miles,
or go south of Reed City on the Pere
Marquette trail to Grand Rapids. The
Benzie/Manistee trail goes all the way north to the Maple City
another 147 miles and connects to the Wellston trails to the south.
Let's total this up, 146 + 122 + 124 + 68 + 144 + 147 = 751 in
groomed connecting trails just in this area alone and we are right
in the middle of them. I don't know about you, but that's a ton of
riding. Now there is more trails to get to, but that would be just
over kill and this is not even counting all of the two tracks and
seasonal roads that you can ride.
Why spent an extra $200 to $300 in truck fuel to get to
Gaylord or the UP when we have fantastic riding right here. WEEK
DAY RIDING IS THE BEST. Come here and get a nice clean warm room and
use that $200 to $300 for snowmobile fuel, that’s a ton of riding.
We have on site Snowmobile Rentals, provided by ATV &
Snowmobile Rentals
LLC,
so if you don't have a sled, just let me know and I can get it set
up for you. Maybe you just want to try snowmobiling or maybe your
sled is broken, we can help. But remember weekday riding is always
the best, less traffic, the gas stations are less busy and it's just
a lot safer.
Until the snow gets too deep, there isn't any reason that you can't
ride your ATV's or dirt bikes. There are tons of ATV and dirt bike
trails that are open all year long and are a blast to ride before
the snow does get too deep. A couple great trails to ride in
December is the Little O and Tin Cup Springs. Both of these trails
have their own challenges and obstacles and are a blast to ride.
FYI, the parking area for the Little O that is on M37 just north of
us and the 32nd street parking area close December first, (These are
Federal parking areas), so if you want to ride the Little O, just
park at the M37 staging area at 3 mile road and take the Little
Manistee trail east, then head south (right) on the first trail and
then hang a right again (west) and that will take you to the Little
O. The parking area for the Tin Cup Springs trail is on Kings
Highway south of Carriville.
PLEASE DO NOT RIDE YOUR ATV's OR DIRT BIKES ON SNOWMOBILE ONLY
TRAILS.
Just remember, when you are
coming up north this time of the year, bring a full array of
clothes. Dry gear, wet gear, warm gear and cold gear. It's better to
have it and not use it than it is to need it and not have it. Please
take a look at the Michigan DNR web site for the 2013 signage regulations
on the trails that went into effect this year. Some signs will be removed and
some signs are being added to make the trails a much safer place.
(At least that is their thinking). Here is the link to the new
signage changes.
http://www.michigan.gov/dnr/0,4570,7-153--280829--,00.html also
while at the DNR site check on any restrictions that maybe in effect
during the rifle deer season. Winter Steelhead
are in the rivers
and the fishermen are going quite well. As always, weekday riding is the best with light to no
traffic.
